TECUMSEH — The Sage Foundation has awarded a $15,000 grant to the Tecumseh Downtown Development Authority to support the 2026 installation of Art Trail Tecumseh, the city’s annual public art program.

The long-running initiative brings rotating public art installations to downtown Tecumseh through partnerships with the Midwest Sculpture Initiative and Flatlanders Sculpture Supply and Art Galleries.

This year’s Art Trail features more than 20 works of art, including sculptures, murals, and an interactive art and music park. The Art Trail includes 12 new traveling sculptures.

An all-volunteer committee made up of local artists and community leaders selected this year’s featured works, curating a collection that showcases a wide range of materials, scales, colors and artistic styles.

“We are grateful for the Sage Foundation’s investment in Tecumseh’s public art program,” said Kelly Jo Gilmore, economic development director for the city of Tecumseh. “Art Trail Tecumseh brings creativity and energy to our downtown while helping strengthen community pride and the visitor experience.”

The 2026 Art Trail continues the city’s commitment to creative placemaking and vibrant public spaces.

Support for the 2026 Art Trail is provided by the Michigan Arts and Culture Council, the Sage Foundation, the Tecumseh Downtown Development Authority and the city of Tecumseh.
