After approving the financial figures in March pertaining to the 2026-27 budget year, the Clinton Township Board made a quick rectification related to its budget amounts at its April 13 regular meeting.
Clerk Kim Scott said a minor clerical error is to blame for the township’s road budget showing up last month as $144,000. The correct amount of budgeted road work, should be $154,000 for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
That budget amendment was approved unanimously by the township board last week.
As reflected in the township’s 2026-27 budget, the road tax is estimated at $73,653.02, which is nearly identical to the amount received during the 2025-26 budget year of $73,217.59. A key figure related to the road fund this year for the township is the addition of $24,300 in road state income tax appropriations.
When it comes to what’s on tap for road construction projects this year for Clinton Township, the biggest — and most expensive — project is a $100,902.10 underseal and asphalt overlay for the Post Oaks Estates Subdivision. Located just north of Pennington Road on Tecumseh-Clinton Highway at Post Oak Drive, the project will include 0.64 miles of asphalt at a cost of $74,894.11.
Remaining project components, according to an exhibit from the Lenawee County Road Commission, include 0.56 miles of grinding ($7,213.08), seal coat ($11,857.97), shoulders ($5,846.74) and signage ($690.20).
