The list of Lenawee County basketball players to reach 1,000 career points is growing significantly.
Last week, four new members put themselves into the exclusive club – Taylor Kopin of Hudson, Jaxson Francis of Adrian, Ella Salenbien of Adrian and Emersyn Bachelder of Morenci.
There are now 64 boys and girls in county history to reach 1,000 career points. Multiple other players in the county are nearing the milestone as well as this could be the biggest season in county basketball history for 1,000 point scorers.
Bachelder is just the fourth girl in Morenci history to reach the milestone, joining Daelyn Merillat, Kylene Spiegel and Mady Schmitz.
Kopin joins Aubrey Laughlin, Stephanie Sprow, Ashley Opsal and Angie Salenbien as Tigers to do it.
Salenbien, who set Adrian's all-time career rebounding record as well, is the fifth Adrian girl to reach 1,000 points, joining Kelly Kohn, Lauren Kohn, Marcia Bruggeman and Amy Wetherbee.
Francis will have his name alongside Joe Francis, Scott Riley, Matt Kohn and Stevie Elam at Adrian.
