Week 9 high school football matchups:
Addison at Grass Lake
Records: Addison 1-7, Grass Lake 1-7.
Last time: Grass Lake 49, Addison 14, 2024.
Series since 1950: Addison leads 23-19
The skinny: Grass Lake’s only win this season was a forfeit victory against East Jackson. Grass Lake hasn’t had a 1-win season since 1991.
Adrian at NB Huron
Records: Adrian 7-1, New Boston Huron 3-5
Last time: First meeting
The skinny: The last time Adrian played a Huron League team was in the 2022 playoffs in a 35-14 loss to Riverview. Adrian’s Luke Bruggeman has topped the 1,000-yard mark for rushing this season. He has 1,178 yards on 173 carries.
Blissfield at Hillsdale
Records: Blissfield 1-7, Hillsdale 0-8
Last time: Blissfield 47, Hillsdale 28, Week 2 this season
The skinny: Second meeting between the schools this season. This game is a non-league game. Hillsdale has lost 17 straight games.
Ubly at Clinton
Records: Clinton 6-2, Ubly 3-5
Last time: First meeting
The skinny: Ubly has lost three consecutive games coming into this week. Clinton is 6-2 and looking to secure a possible home field for the first round of the playoffs.
Henry Ford Academy at Onsted
Records: Onsted 3-5, Detroit Henry Ford 4-4
Last time: First meeting
The skinny: Henry Ford plays in the Blue Division of the Detroit Public School League, which includes Detroit Cass Tech and Detroit Martin Luther King, two of the highest rated teams in the state. Henry Ford did not play Cass Tech this year, but lost 51-0 to King.
Madison at Tecumseh
Records: Madison 5-3, Tecumseh 5-3
Last time: First meeting
The skinny: The biggest game in Lenawee County Friday. Madison is in Division 6 while Tecumseh is in Division 4. Both are currently inside the top 32 in their divisions. Either team would solidify that spot with a win. A loss and they still might get in.
Hudson at Berrien Springs
Records: Hudson 8-0, Berrien Springs 6-1
Last time: First meeting
The skinny: Hudson won the LCAA title with a perfect 7-0 league record. Berrien Springs tied Buchanan and Dowagiac for the Lakeland Athletic Conference title with 3-1 league records. The Shamrocks have played a shortened season – they did not have an opponent in Week 4 and won by forfeit against Benton Harbor in Week 7.
Mendon at LCS
Records: Mendon 8-0, LCS 5-3
Last time: Mendon 87, LCS 30, 2024
8-PLAYER Series: Tied, 1-1.
The skinny: Mendon is 8-0 and champions of the SCAA-Red Division. They are coming off a 46-20 win over Climax-Scotts last week. Climax-Scotts beat LCS 44-41 earlier this season. LCS has won three straight games, scoring at least 60 points in each of those wins. Last year Mendon beat LCS 87-30. Two years ago, LCS beat Mendon 73-30.
Camden Frontier at BD
Records: BD 7-1, Camden-Frontier 4-4

The skinny: The Patriots are playing for a home field game in the first round of the playoffs. The Redskins have won three of the last four games after starting the season 1-3.
Sand Creek vs. Comstock

The skinny: This is a crossover between the Big 8 and the Southwest 10. Comstock’s last win came in Week 3 of the 2022 season, a string of 28 straight losses.

The skinny: The game is being played Saturday and will complete the 2025 regular season for Lenawee County football teams.
